Radiant/Hydronic Heating Repair & Installation
But…what is it?
More or less, it’s a system of tubes that run underneath your floors and through your baseboards. The tubes are filled with hot liquid that radiates heat and keeps your toes toasty!
A boiler heats the water or liquid, and pumps send it through a closed-loop system. As the water cools off, it re-enters the boiler to be heated once again.
The even distribution of the piping beneath the floors helps keep an entire room (or home) a steady temperature, rather than having most of the heat concentrated near the heating source (like vents, the fireplace, or a wood-burning stove).
And don’t worry: You can use whatever flooring you want over the tubing, so you don’t have to sacrifice style for the sake of efficiency.
